Access to Justice
Civil society in Zambia has in the recent past become more visible in mitigating the negative effects of limited access to justice on citizens by effectively providing paralegals who not only provide legal aid services to those that need it the most, but also sensitise communities to enhance their understanding of their individual, legal and political rights
The access to justice sector in Zambia has traditionally comprised non-state actors that largely focus on paralegal services, as well as those that provide paralegal services as one of a wider range of activities. Typical access to justice interventions have also evolved around the issue of gender based violence especially in relation to women. Read more
